@Mark Agree! we are working on adding this functionality in the future. It is already in development pipeline.

  • Basti

This is definitively a necessary and most wanted feature!

I don't have my iPhone beside me all the time so pressing the send button gets annoying after a while.

  • Eric Bartlett

This absolutely is my #1 request.  I would love to send SMS without having to keep hitting 'send'.

Hi Alex/ team, are we any closer to implementing this feature?

  • myPhoneDesktop Support

Closer :) but not there yet... need to find suitable SMS gateway... thank you all for your patience!

  • Will Floodgate

Any closer on implementing this feature? Have Apple allowed third party sending yet?

  • myPhoneDesktop Support

No, it is still restricted on iOS however, recently released v1.6 allow you to send SMS directly from the desktop (without iDevice) using Google Voice account. We are still working on improving SMS and adding new features for future releases. Thank you.

  • Hanes Chua

Yes, please find a way to allow this. I have no signal in my house, so I picture relying on this tool to send messages from my computer without the need to going to my phone to tap send. Would be a very big help.

Kudos, though! Please update us on the progress of this feature. I think this is the most sought after feature.

  • Scott Glenister

I agree with Hanes, I believe this feature is the most requested and useful, more power to your elbow in trying to get this feature working, would be amazing if you did!

  • myPhoneDesktop Support

Yes, totally agree. Currently requirement to press "Send" is due to limitations imposed by Apple. We are working on resolving this of course. Keep in mind that since v1.6 you can use Google Voice to send SMS (and call) directly from your desktop. Unfortunately Google Voice is still available to US customers only :(

  • Scott Glenister

Well keep up the good work Alex, we all appreciate it. Dang!! wish the U.K. had Google voice, c'mon you yanks spread the technological love :-)

  • myPhoneDesktop Support

Thank you Scott! Much appreciated. Made my day! :)

FYI: Use a Google Voice Number from Outside the U.S.

I must say this is one of the best apps i have ever used! absolutely amazing! just reading up with regards to the Sending SMS to the iPhone without having to press Send.. I notice you said it is in the pipeline and just wondered if this would have been completed by now? Probably still an Apple Limitation to be honest.. but woud love for there to be a jailbreak tweak that supports this

  • myPhoneDesktop Support

@Amit Unfortunately at this moment it is still not possible due to restrictions imposed by Apple (as you correctly noted). We are working in finding ways to allow for this functionality.

  • Scott Glenister

Hi Alex, any update on this? Do you think the new notification centre coming in with iOS 5 might help or hinder sending text messages to the iphone without pressing Send?

  • myPhoneDesktop Support

@Scott Nothing as of yet... with upcoming iOS5 - not sure will see as soon as we start implementing it... of course will update forum as soon as we know something new. Thank you.

  • Steve Pahos

Can you please please tell me how to send SMS without this paste nonsense. You need to download Nokia PC Suite to see how to get contacts and sms working direct from the phone without this paste stuff. Forgive me if i am wrong. Steve

  • myPhoneDesktop Support

@Steve if you use iOS 4.x then you do not need to paste as SMS done in-app. However you still need to tap the "Send" button. If your iPhone is prior to iOS 4 then Unfortunately you do have to paste SMS into messages app. We are quite familiar with PC Suite :) However issue with either paste (prior iOS 4) and need to tap "Send" button are due to restrictions imposed by Apple and not lack of technical expertise on our part… or lack of desire to improve myPhoneDesktop. Hope you understand.

Hello @Alex, Now that iOS5 is out, any news about this feature? =)

  • myPhoneDesktop Support

Unfortunately iOS5 did not relax any restrictions in this area. For those who use Google Voice you are able to send SMS directly from the desktop (without iDevice) using Google Voice account. Work is being done to improve current process but at the moment I can neither share details nor provide any dates… Thank you for understanding. We are all hoping (and contacting) Apple to relax some of the iOS restrictions.

  • Corey Anderson

Alex, is there anyway to do this via bluetooth like Blurts by MLH software?

  • myPhoneDesktop Support

@Corey - Not yet. Bluetooth is coming in future updates. Not familiar with Blurts by MLH software but will check. If there are some specific functionality you would like me to look at - please let me know. Keep in mind (I mention this before on this forum) For those who use Google Voice you are able to send SMS directly from the desktop (without iDevice) using Google Voice account. Thank you for your understanding and your patience.

  • Jonas

    Hello,

I wonder if you've managed to update the program for submission without touching the phone, because I think this purchase option and if the app has not become impossible to acquire! I would like to cancel the purchase ...

    Thanks in advance,

    Sincerely,

    Jonas

  • Vegi

    @Jonas

myphonedesktop is doing good, no doubt. I just passed the info that some one able to did this job. But I understand that it is only possible on jailbroken phones. I want to keep my purchase, just this is for your Info and i want you to just look into that software only

    Thanks and regards

    sri

  • Luke Lennard

Hi has this feature been implemented yet?

  • Vegi

No idea , seems not yet due to IOS limitations

  • Mhack-san Arce

I just downloaded this app. I thought I can send sms through pc and no need to press send in my iPhone. This costs me $4.99 for this? I am so disappointed? What is this for? A copier? I am so disappointed. Please push through the sms sending using my desktop. Please. :(((((((((((((((((((((((((

  • Mark McKeown
To the person complaining about spending $4.99 on the app who thought it could send SMS directly from the desktop - you should have read the details before you bought it. This app is great! $4.99 well spent.
  • Karim Schmidt

Great app! are you planning to support whatsapp as well?  since sms is a bit dinosaur solution these days ;)
