myPhoneDesktop provides default system-wide shortcut: Cmd+C+C (Mac OS X) or Ctrl+C+C (Windows). If you change default shortcut then you must Click Apply button after you change shortcut, otherwise configuration changes are not saved. myPhoneDesktop system-wide shortcuts work by pasting data from the clipboard, recognizing (processing) it and sending it to your iPhone/iPod touch. Cmd+C+C or Ctrl+C+C shortcut is set by default and recommended as it simplifies processing by copying selection into clipboard and sending it to myPhoneDesktop, all in one transaction. When using other then default Cmd+C+C or Ctrl+C+C shortcuts you need to copy data (phone, text, url, image, etc) into a clipboard before triggering shortcut (i.e., Shift+Shift). Work currently is being done to improve this, but currently only Cmd+C+C or Ctrl+C+C shortcut will automatically copy data into clipboard (first Cmd+C) and send it to myPhoneDesktop (second C).
This functionality will be improved in the future release of myPhoneDesktop client

I can't get the system wide shortcut to work. I have it working on one of my 3 machines, but it does not function on the others, and I can't for the life of me figure out why not. It is working on a snowleopard machine, and was at one point working on my laptop running leopard... but has not worked at all on my main tower... The application works when i manually put something in the interface, just not the hot keys.. any suggestions on what might be causing it not to work? any known conflicts?
Ian, if you look at myPhoneDesktop (desktop client) Setting | System Options | Manage - are your shortcuts drop-down enabled? if yes, what is shortcut set to. Also, please see: http://support.myphonedesktop.com/entries/119976-desktop-clients-and-system-wide-shortcuts
