myPhoneDesktop false positive reports sometimes appear in different AntiVirus and AntiSpyware products. These reports are very rare. Such "false positives" is primarily due to a failure of some antivirus companies to fully test their virus definition updates before sending them out to users.
If you encounter a false positive please perform the following steps before reporting the issue to us in the forums to ensure that it's not an error in AntiVirus software. :
- Update your AntiVirus and scan the file once more
- Test the file in another antivirus product
- Test the file with online scanners to check for detection ratio between several AntiVirus vendors. Several companies like VirusTotal and Jotti Virusscan make available online scanners for individual files.
If you do find that your AntiVirus software reports "false positive" you can usualy report this to them for closer analysis. Here is an example on How To Handle Suspicious False Positive Detection? for AVG AntiVirus products.
