This document will guide you on how to get started with myPhoneDesktop.
That’s it.
Now myPhoneDesktop on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch is ready to receive actions from your desktop. To use myPhoneDesktop you either will need to set up FREE myPhoneDesktop Desktop Client on your computer (desktop or laptop) or use myPhoneDesktop Web Client.
You’ll be prompted to login into your myPhoneDesktop account.
TIP: If you’re experiencing troubles connecting to the myPhoneDesktop Server and you’re behind a proxy or a firewall – you should specify proxy settings via the "Settings | System Options | Proxy".
After you successfully logged in, you can use myPhoneDesktop Client to make phone calls, send long SMS, copy large amounts of text, send long and complicated to retype URL’s, open routes in mobile Google Map, etc. Just select a particular View to work with (e.g. Phone View, Text View, URL View, or Image View), type or copy/paste content that you want to send to your iDevice (e.g. phone number) and choose an action that should be performed with the data when it is received by your iDevice (e.g. Call, SMS, Copy, etc.). Then check myPhoneDesktop app on your iDevice to let it receive selected content and perform desired action. That’s it.
Use global keyboard shortcuts to quickly send content to your iDevice:
NOTE - OS X Mavericks: To allow shortcuts functioning under OS X Mavericks you would need to go to the "System Preferences | Security & Privacy | Privacy | Accessibility" and check to allow myPhoneDesktop to control your computer. You must restart myPhoneDesktop (if it is running) to apply that change.
Use of Drag & Drop makes it even easier to send content to your iDevice:
TIP: You may specify which action should be performed by default per each particular data type using the Default Action dropdown in the Options for each particular View of the Desktop Client.
NOTE: myPhoneDesktop window (by default) is minimized to the Menu bar (Mac OS X) or to the System Tray (Windows) after myPhoneDesktop completes its action, or when you press the ESC key or by clicking the Minimize button. You can use a context menu for myPhoneDesktop Menu (Mac OS X) or Tray (Windows) Icon to get access to some of the myPhoneDesktop features. Or you can show myPhoneDesktop window by Cmd+Click (Mac OS X) or by double-click (Windows) on the Menu/Tray Icon.
NOTE - Windows 8: on Windows 8 myPhoneDesktop icon is hidden in the System Tray by default. You may either:
- access myPhoneDesktop icon by pressing the "Show hidden icons" (Up arrow) on the System Tray;
- permanently show myPhoneDesktop icon via the "Taskbar and Navigation Properties | Navigation Area - Customize".
You can launch myPhoneDesktop Web Client by opening the following link: https://myphonedesktop.com/index.html?runInBrowser or by visiting www.myphonedeslop.com site and clicking the Web Client button. You’ll be prompted to login.

myPhoneDesktop provides Support for Multiple Accounts allowing you to work with several iDevices (i.e iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) and Quick Accounts switching option. Here is how Multiple Accounts feature works: You will need to create a dedicated Account per each of your iDevice. Then you will have to add (register) all of your Accounts in the Desktop and/or Web Client.
After this is done you will be able to choose an Account (and its corresponding iDevice) you would work with from the myPhoneDesktop Clients. See this article: http://support.myphonedesktop.com/entries/187022-how-to-add-multiple-accounts for more information.
