Almost certainly an iOS limitation/ restriction ..
But it would be GREAT to be able to send an SMS from the desktop/ web client WITHOUT having to tap 'send' on an iPhone.

This is definitively a necessary and most wanted feature!
I don't have my iPhone beside me all the time so pressing the send button gets annoying after a while.

This absolutely is my #1 request. I would love to send SMS without having to keep hitting 'send'.

Any closer on implementing this feature? Have Apple allowed third party sending yet?

No, it is still restricted on iOS however, recently released v1.6 allow you to send SMS directly from the desktop (without iDevice) using Google Voice account. We are still working on improving SMS and adding new features for future releases. Thank you.

Yes, please find a way to allow this. I have no signal in my house, so I picture relying on this tool to send messages from my computer without the need to going to my phone to tap send. Would be a very big help.
Kudos, though! Please update us on the progress of this feature. I think this is the most sought after feature.

I agree with Hanes, I believe this feature is the most requested and useful, more power to your elbow in trying to get this feature working, would be amazing if you did!

Yes, totally agree. Currently requirement to press "Send" is due to limitations imposed by Apple. We are working on resolving this of course. Keep in mind that since v1.6 you can use Google Voice to send SMS (and call) directly from your desktop. Unfortunately Google Voice is still available to US customers only :(

I must say this is one of the best apps i have ever used! absolutely amazing! just reading up with regards to the Sending SMS to the iPhone without having to press Send.. I notice you said it is in the pipeline and just wondered if this would have been completed by now? Probably still an Apple Limitation to be honest.. but woud love for there to be a jailbreak tweak that supports this

@Amit Unfortunately at this moment it is still not possible due to restrictions imposed by Apple (as you correctly noted). We are working in finding ways to allow for this functionality.

Hi Alex, any update on this? Do you think the new notification centre coming in with iOS 5 might help or hinder sending text messages to the iphone without pressing Send?

Can you please please tell me how to send SMS without this paste nonsense. You need to download Nokia PC Suite to see how to get contacts and sms working direct from the phone without this paste stuff. Forgive me if i am wrong. Steve

@Steve if you use iOS 4.x then you do not need to paste as SMS done in-app. However you still need to tap the "Send" button. If your iPhone is prior to iOS 4 then Unfortunately you do have to paste SMS into messages app. We are quite familiar with PC Suite :) However issue with either paste (prior iOS 4) and need to tap "Send" button are due to restrictions imposed by Apple and not lack of technical expertise on our part… or lack of desire to improve myPhoneDesktop. Hope you understand.

Unfortunately iOS5 did not relax any restrictions in this area. For those who use Google Voice you are able to send SMS directly from the desktop (without iDevice) using Google Voice account. Work is being done to improve current process but at the moment I can neither share details nor provide any dates… Thank you for understanding. We are all hoping (and contacting) Apple to relax some of the iOS restrictions.

@Corey - Not yet. Bluetooth is coming in future updates. Not familiar with Blurts by MLH software but will check. If there are some specific functionality you would like me to look at - please let me know. Keep in mind (I mention this before on this forum) For those who use Google Voice you are able to send SMS directly from the desktop (without iDevice) using Google Voice account. Thank you for your understanding and your patience.
